Physics/Math Tutoring

After a long break from tutoring, I am glad to be back! I am currently a senior Astrophysics BS candidate at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I have around 6 years of tutoring experience in mathematics and physics. The origin of my journey began because of my passion for physics and mathematics; however, I soon realized that I had developed a passion for teaching. Over my academic career, many perceived physics and math as complicated and impossible to learn subjects. I am here to break that stigma and show that it is not as complex as you think (maybe even show that it can be exciting and beautiful). Most of the time, I work over zoom; however, if you are local to the Triangle area, I am not opposed to having in-person sessions (there will be a $5 upcharge for this).

  • Physics Tutoring

I have tutored students in a variety of physics classes. These classes include AP Physics I & II, AP Physics C: Mechanics and E&M, introductory algebra and calculus-based college physics, and many more. Getting others to enjoy the subject I dearly love is one of my favorite things about tutoring. I hope to make physics not as complicated as many perceive it as. I aim to cater to all learning styles and help students understand physics concepts. With this specialized 1-on-1 session, I will be able to give personalized advice as well as personalized practice problems. (See pricing below)

  • Calculus Tutoring

Calculus is the basis of the mathematical world and more often times than not you will see it throughout your academic career, therefore, having a solid understanding and a good foundation for such math is crucial. In my sessions, we will try and actually understand the math and not just memorize formulas. With these specialized 1-1 sessions I also give personalized practice and study tips (See pricing below).

  • Higher Level Mathematics

This is something new that I have not tried yet so some things may be a work in progress. However, to start this section, I will offer help in Linear Algebra and Differential Equations. If you are interested in higher-level mathematics that is not listed, you can reach me at the email at the bottom of the page. (See pricing below)

More about me!

I was originally from a military family, which led me to be born in London, England; however, I grew up most of my life in the small town of Goldsboro, NC. Before attending UNC Chapel Hill, I graduated from the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics in Durham, NC (recently named the #1 public high school in the nation!). Besides tutoring, I also work at the Moorehead Planetarium and Science Center, where I give astronomy-based shows (which you should definitely check out if you have not already). Outside of the classroom, you can find me in the local thrift store or just out and about taking pictures. Photography is nice for relaxing after a long day of classes or homework. More recently astrophotography is something I have been getting into! I plan on starting a blog on my astrophotography soon, so if you are interested, it will be posted here when it is up and going.
